Our Story
Harbour Light Yoga was born in 2019 from the shared vision of two friends, Elena Patel and David Morrison, who met during their yoga teacher training in India. Returning to Toronto with a desire to create a space where yoga could be practiced in its most authentic form while being accessible to everyone, they discovered a vacant waterfront space with breathtaking views of Lake Ontario.
What began as a small studio with just three weekly classes has blossomed into one of Toronto's most beloved yoga sanctuaries. The name "Harbour Light" was inspired by the way the morning sun reflects off the water and streams through our east-facing windows, creating a natural spotlight on our practice space each dawn.
In 2022, we expanded to our current location, tripling our space while maintaining the intimate connection to the water that has become integral to our practice philosophy. Through the challenges of recent years, our community has grown stronger, supporting each other through virtual classes during lockdowns and joyfully returning to our shared space when possible.
Today, Harbour Light Yoga is home to twelve dedicated instructors and offers over 40 weekly classes, workshops, and teacher training programs. Our journey continues to be guided by our founding principle: creating a space where everyone can find their inner light while being embraced by the natural beauty of Toronto's harbour.
